Ballet intensives

The intensives, a different working rhythm

Ananyan Ballet organises winter and summer intensives in Monaco, open to different profiles and levels. For the rest of the year, the school offers coaching, repertoire and audition preparation on request.

Summer and winter intensives

Ananyan Ballet's summer and winter intensives bring together in Monaco guest artists, teachers, ballet masters and répétiteurs from leading international ballet companies. Classical technique, repertoire, variations, artistic coaching and, depending on the programme, contemporary dance form part of these periods of intensive study.

The intensives welcome different profiles and levels: Ananyan Ballet students, visiting dancers, advanced recreational students, as well as young dancers pursuing pre-professional or professional training.

That mix is deliberate: working beside someone who learned elsewhere, in another language and with other habits, teaches a great deal in a few days.

The next editions

Summer 2027

Summer intensive

A week of intensive work in Monaco, open to the school's students and to dancers coming from elsewhere.

The summer intensive brings together, in Monaco, students from the school and dancers from other countries. Classical work remains the spine of the week, with repertoire and an opening toward contemporary.

The days are full but manageable: barre in the morning, centre and repertoire afterwards, and individual working time for those preparing a competition or an audition.

Winter 2027

Winter intensive

A shorter format, built around a guest étoile, focused on repertoire.

The winter intensive is shorter than the summer one and is built around a guest étoile. The work centres on repertoire: learning a variation, holding it, then dancing it in front of the others.

It is also a chance for students to meet a way of working other than their usual teacher’s, which often advances them faster than a month of classes.

The guest artists

Depending on the programme and availability, Ananyan Ballet welcomes professional artists, principal dancers, ballet masters, répétiteurs and distinguished teachers connected with leading international companies.

Drawing on the professional relationships Victoria Ananyan developed throughout her international career, the school is also able to invite artists and colleagues from Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the wider international ballet community.

Guest faculty may vary from one intensive to another. Details are communicated directly to participating families ahead of each programme, allowing each intensive to be shaped around the students, repertoire and artistic objectives rather than around a fixed list of names.

Coaching throughout the year

Beyond the scheduled intensives, Ananyan Ballet offers individual and small-group coaching throughout the year for students and dancers working towards a specific goal.

Sessions may include classical repertoire and variation coaching, audition preparation for ballet schools or professional companies, competition preparation, technical refinement and individual artistic coaching.

These sessions are independent of the intensive calendar and are arranged according to each dancer's needs, level and objectives.

An international collaboration: Tokyo

The school has a long-standing pedagogical and artistic relationship with Tokyo, Japan, built over many years through teaching, masterclasses, intensive programmes and artistic exchange.

This link did not come about by chance. Victoria's mother, Zhanna Muradyan, was Senior Ballet Teacher at the Tokyo Ballet for six years and trained dancers there who became soloists with leading companies. The exchange simply continues a family story.

Today that story carries on through an annual exchange programme, currently in its third edition. Young dancers cross the world to come and work here, and in return our students discover a school that does not run like their own.

The exchange rests on people, not on a contract, and it continues from one year to the next for as long as the children get something from it.
